St John’ s College Wedding – A gorgeous, intimate wedding filled with so much emotion.

Here’s our blog on a stunning St John’s College Wedding, featuring a couple that got married their way!

I got to see how serene and beautiful Muriel looked during her bridal prep.  Their home was filled with thee most relaxing classical music, and her small bridal team were completely relaxed throughout the day as they prepared for her St John’s College Wedding in Cambridge.

BUT… When Muriel walked down the most impressive isle at St John’s College Chapel, she looked elegant, stunning and her confidence shone – the entire chapel fell silent, I don’t think any one breathed as she made her way to the alter.  She infact took all our breath away.

From my vantage point I saw just how proud Pekka was the moment he saw his bride enter the Chapel.

Pekka and Muriel’s wedding was just how they wanted it, it was small, it was intimate and it was perfect.

St John’s College is one of those rare Cambridge Colleges that although completely impressive, remains relaxed and friendly.  Surrounded by iconic views, Pekka and Muriel’s guests got to wander around the grounds and take in the true beauty of Cambridge.

Drinks were served on the main lawn; the Bridge of Sighs in the background and the wedding party were surrounded by the gorgeous cloisters.

And then the wedding party moved to one of Muriel and Pekka’s favourite family restaurants, La Pergola in Cambridge.  Where the Italian family run restaurant embraced the wedding guests in true Italian hospitality.

I get to shoot huge weddings with 300 guests+ and I am fortunate enough to photograph smaller weddings.  And both types of weddings are packed with so much intense emotion, every wedding I shoot is big in that respect.  And I feel that smaller weddings will become the norm.

A huge thanks to Pekka & Muriel for allowing me to be a part of their amazing day.  Thank you to the stunning St John’s College Cambridge for perfect attitude towards wedding photographers, and thank you to each and every one of the guests for allowing me to take just on more shot.
