Josh and Sophie | Kimbolton Castle wedding.
Josh and Sophie’s Perfect, Elegant Wedding at Kimbolton Castle.
In July I got to return to Kimbolton Castle, to celebrate Sophie and Josh’s perfect wedding. I had the pleasure of photographing Sophie and Josh’s pre-wedding shoot earlier on in the year.

Relaxed and very chilled bridal prep took place at Sophie’s parents’ house before Sophie was driven in style to the church.
Sophie could not have looked more beautiful, and as for Josh, well, he definitely scrubbed up well too. They made such an elegant couple.
The ceremony took place at the beautiful St Andrew’s Church, Kimbolton, which is a short distance from the castle, so the weddings guests mingled their way back to the venue after the service.
The drinks reception was held in the courtyard whilst a harpist played in the back ground and the wedding breakfast was held in their main hall. Sophie had been planning her wedding for ages, and it showed in all the details. Everything was perfect and every little detail suited the elegant surroundings of this wedding venue.
Kimbolton is also famous for their fireworks, so at 9:30pm all the guests were asked to go to one of the terraces, which offered the best view for a fantastic firework display over the grounds. This display was impressive, colourful and loud. I am often asked if fireworks are worth having at a wedding, and of course it is up to the individual, and their budget, but they are always spectacular and amazing way to round of a wedding celebration. If you are planning to have fireworks at your wedding, you must discuss this early on with your venue as there are tight rules regarding firework displays and not all venues allow them.
As the evening drew to close, I got to witness some truly impressive dancing. I never leave after the first dance, as I prefer to stay on into the celebrations to capture all the fun.
Although Kimbolton Castle is actually a school, I found this to be a stunning and very professionally run wedding venue. It is an elegant, impressive wedding venue steeped in history, with gorgeous grounds, which are ideal for photographs, or just for a wonder after the wedding breakfast.
But weddings are limited to fit around school holidays, so if you are interested in Kimbolton Castle for your wedding venue then do enquire early.
