Lanwades Hall is situated just outside of Newmarket, in Suffolk and is a privately owned country house wedding venue. Full of charm and character, this wedding venue has an elegant boutique feel to it and wedding clients get the exclusive use of the venue and its grounds for the duration of their wedding.
I’ve photographed many weddings at Lanwades, and here’s how I would approach your wedding photography at Lanwades.
So, more than likely, you’ll be getting ready at Lanwades’ gorgeous prep suite. I’d love to pop in and shoot your preparations in an unobtrusive way… It’s recording a part fo the day that your partner doesn’t get to see. And I’ll also photograph details such as your dress, shoes and jewellery.
If your ceremony will be at Lanwades, then I’ll be there to photograph you as you walk down the stunning staircase. I’ll photograph you entering your ceremony room. If it’s okay with you both I’d also like to photograph the ceremony (as Lanwades is such a bright venue, I don’t use flash and my camera equipment is almost silent).
After your ceremony, you’ll both have a few moments in the Old Library, whilst I prepare for the confetti shot.
Then as your family and friends relax on the terrace with drinks and nibbles, we’ll tackle a few formal group shots.
As you guests are called into the dinning room, we’ll take a short walk around the grounds to capture a few natural formal portraits of you both – I promise not to take you away for too long, maybe 15 minutes, just to grab some lovely images of you both.
In-between all this excitement I’d like to photograph the venue and the details that make your wedding unique.
I’ll photograph you speeches, and then more informal group shots and hopefully we’ll go for another ten minute walk to catch the last of the light. Lanwades has a truly impressive driveway, and I like to use as much of the environment as I can in your wedding images.
Typically my clients book me for the entire duration of their wedding, from prep to almost the very last dance. so, I’ll be there not only for your cake cutting, your first dance but also top photograph as many of your guests dancing and celebrating the night away.
but what I’d also like to do is to use Lanwades stunning terrace garden for a night shot and if you watch the video to the last shot, you’ll see what I mean.
But everything I do is tailored to your requirements and what you both want from your wedding photography. So when we have your initial wedding consultation, I’d love for you to be as demanding as you need to be and bring lots of ideas.
And I hope to see you both get married at Lanwades.
